Brazil Legend Pelé Has Passed On At The Age Of 82
Brazil and global soccer superstar Edson Arantes do Nascimento affectionately known as Pelé has passed away at the age of 82 at a medical facility in Sao Paolo on Thursday.
Regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, Pele’s legendary status transcends beyond the beautiful game of football.
He has won a record three World Cups and also holds the record for the youngest player to win the continental championship.
The football great had undergone treatment for colon cancer since 2021 — the hospital where he was receiving treatment for the last month said he died as a result of multiple organ failure due to the cancer.
Pelé spent close to two decades putting smiles on the faces of fans and nightmarishly taking his opponents by storm playing for Santos and the Brazil national team.
Her daughter Kely Nascimento wrote on her Instagram page “All that we are is thanks to you, We love you endlessly. Rest in peace.”
