Real Madrid Edge Out Al Hilal To Win 5th World Title

Real Madrid edged out Al Hilal in a hard fought victory to clinch their fifth FIFA Club World Cup title in Morocco.

The LaLiga giants strolled past African champions Al Ahly to book a spot in the final.

Young firebrands, Vinicius Junior and Federico Valverde hit a brace each to help los Blancos win the tournament for the first time since 2018.

The defending European and Spanish champions took the lead in the opening minutes — Vinicius clipped home while Valverde lashed in a superb second to put Madrid in a comfortable lead.

Al Hilal pulled one back Moussa Marega and looked to be well back into the contest.

But Karim Benzema tapped home the third from Vinicius’s sublime cross while Valverde curled home his second of the night before Luciano Vietto scored to give the Saudi Arabian side another chance.

Vinicius added his second of the night and Madrid’s fifth to wrap up an emphatic win while Vietto bagged his second of the night which could only be counted as consolation.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side clinched their first title of the season after losing out in the Spanish Supercopa final to fierce rivals Barcelona.
