Arsenal Beat Man United In Five-Goal Thriller
Arsenal beat Man United 3-2 to restore their lead to five points clear at the summit of the Premier League.
The Gunners battled back from a goal down to record a memorable victory under the marquee lights at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday — Eddie Nkatieh scored twice including a late winner to tame the Red Devils.
Marcus Rashford got the breakthrough after 17 minutes with a stunning strike 25-yards out but Nkatieh headed home to level seven minutes later.
It was everybody’s game at 1-1 but Arsenal’s relentlessness is matched only by their Premier League title ambition. It’s been nearly two decades since the Gunners last won the title, dating back to the ‘Invincibles’ season in 2003/204.
Bukayo Saka fired the hosts back in front after he was given too much time at the right-wing but United pulled even six minutes later when there was spillage in Arsenal’s box and Lisandro Martinez headed in to make it 2-2.
Mikel Arteta’s side did not panic as they took complete control of the game from there until the 90th minute when Nkatieh flicked in the winner to cap a thrilling encounter.
The English striker has been in sensational shape since standing in for injured Gabriel Jesus and has now scored seven goals in all competitions.
Arsenal are within touching distance with champions Manchester City as they chase their first Premier League title in 19 years. They lead with five points with a game in hand.
