ClubWC: Real Madrid Strolled Past Al Ahly To Book Final Spot

European Champions Real Madrid strolled past African Champions Al Ahly by 4-1 to reach the FIFA Club World Cup final in Morocco on Wednesday.

Vinicius Jr, Federico Valverde, Rodrygo and Sergio Arribas all found the back of the net to send Madrid to the final of the inter continental championship.

The LaLiga giants proved too good for the Egyptian side though the goals came in later on in the game. Al Ahly contained Madrid until the stroke of half time.

Real Madrid struggled to get the breakthrough but the moment they got the opener they were in cruise control until the final whistle.

Vinicius Jr put Carlo Ancelotti’s side ahead in the 42nd before Valverde tapped home from a rebound to double the lead right after the restart.

Los Blancos failed to score from the numerous chances the created and Al Ahly received a lifeline after Hussein El Shahat was tripped inside the area in the 65th minute and defender Ali Maaloul tucked away the penalty.

The game slipped away from the Egyptians in the dying embers — Modric missed a penalty but Rodrygo and substitute Arribas made it up to complete a comfortable victory in stoppage time.

Real Madrid will take on Saudi Super League side Al Hilal in the final on Saturday after they shocked South American champions Flamengo 3-2 in the first semi-final.
