LeBron James Becomes Highest Paid NBA Player After Signing Two-Year Extension Deal With LA Lakers
NBA superstar LeBron James has become the highest paid NBA player ever after extending his stay with LA Lakers as per CNN.
LeBron has signed an improved two-year extension deal worth $97.1 million with the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.
The new deal has put to rest any idea of the four-time NBA champion becoming a free agent next season.
The 37-year-old has become the highest paid player in terms of salary in the league’s history, surpassing Kevin Durant after his new deal took him to a whopping $532 million in guarantee career earnings.
There is flexibility in the deal which allows James to opt out in the final year of the contract if he no longer wants to stay with the team.
The new NBA season is scheduled to start on October 18.
