UCL Round Up: Man City, Shakhtar Donetsk & Real Madrid Win Big, PSG Edge Juve As Chelsea Fall To Defeat In Croatia

 

 

Uefa Champions League is back and as usual it delivered with aplomb as Group E, F, G and H opened their accounts on Tuesday night.

 

 

Manchester City thumped LaLiga side Sevilla 4-0 in their Champions league opener in Spain as Haaland left fans in awe.

 

The Norwegian continued his impressive start to life at Manchester City by scoring a brace while Phil Foden and Ruben Dias adding the two to round off an emphatic win for Pep Guardiola’s men.

Paris Saint-Germain earned a hard fought win over Juventus at the Parc des Princess. Kylian Mbappe was literally unplayable as he linked up with Neymar and Messi upfront.

The Frenchman hit a brace and could have gotten more but for lack of sharpness in front of goal. Weston Mckennie pulled one back with a thumping header.

Champions league was back at the Celtic Park after a long while and the thunderous noise at the stadium could do little to unsettle tournament’s protagonists, Real Madrid.

Shakhtar Donetsk thumped RB Leipzig 4-1 at the Red Bull Arena leaving the Bundesliga side in utter shock.

Maryan Shved hit a brace while Mykhaylo Mudryk and Lassina Traore found the back of net each to complete the thumping. Mohamed Simakan got the consolation for the hosts.

Borussia Dortmund strolled pass FC Copenhagen at home with two first half goals from Marco Reus and Raphaël Guerreiro before Jude Bellingham adding the icing on the cake in the dying embers.

Elsewhere in Croatia Dinamo Zagreb shocked Chelsea, courtesy of a Mislav Orsic solitary strike as Thomas Tuchel’s side stuttering form to the season lingers on.

FC Salzburg and AC Milan played out a lackluster 1-1 stalemate at the Red Bull Arena. Noah Okafor’s 28th minute strike was canceled out by Alexis Saelemaekers five minutes to half time. No goal was recorded in the entire second half.
